Kendra

Registered Dental Hygienist

Kendra’s journey to becoming a hygienist has been anything but conventional. Her career began in the Navy, followed by roles in sales and customer service within the communications sector. However, it is in her current role as a hygienist that Kendra finds the deepest fulfillment, particularly in helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. She skillfully combines the use of advanced technology with a warm, personal touch, and is noted for her “exceptional patience.” Kendra excels at helping patients navigate the challenges of changing habits and collaboratively finding solutions that suit their individual needs.

She is particularly dedicated to educating patients about the importance of periodontal (gum) health, understanding that gum disease can have systemic effects on the body’s overall health. Kendra played a key role in implementing the “PREVISOR” periodontal disease risk assessment tool at our clinic, training the team and integrating it into our hygiene appointments, significantly impacting our patients’ health and helping them preserve their teeth.

Since joining our practice in 2006, Kendra has obtained certifications in local anesthesia, in-office teeth whitening, administering and monitoring nitrous anesthesia and soft-tissue laser therapy. Outside of work, she is an avid outdoors enthusiast, enjoying time with her family and actively participating in sports. A native of New Hampshire, Kendra currently resides in Merrimack with her husband and sons.

Shanna initially joined our practice in 2007 as an intern from the dental assisting program at NHTI, impressively completing two rotations with us instead of the usual one. Her excellent fit with our team led her to become a permanent member shortly after her graduation. In 2011, Shanna earned her national certification as a dental assistant, recognizing her advanced skills and knowledge. Her dedication to dental care propelled her to become a certified hygienist in July 2019.

Shanna is a cornerstone of our practice, always eager to assist patients, dentists and staff. Known for her proactive approach, she consistently anticipates the needs of others. She is passionate about educating patients on the connection between oral and systemic health, empowering them to take optimal care of their well-being. Patients frequently praise the seamless and caring manner in which they receive their treatment, and they value the thoughtful follow-up call Shanna makes after each appointment.

As a leader, Shanna plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and organization of our clinical area. Her infectious joy and laughter not only uplift our team but also resonate with patients, creating a warm and enjoyable atmosphere.

Outside of work, Shanna relishes motherhood with her five wonderful daughters. She resides in Manchester with her family and enjoys spending her free time socializing with friends.
